Fly Brave

April 2024 mural for the coffee/workspace at Fly Brave. This volunteer-driven nonprofit is dedicated to empowering adults with developmental disabilities through employment training, social programs, and community engagement. Founded in 2016 by Vanessa Bieker and her son John Almeda, who has non-verbal autism, Fly Brave began as a small grassroots effort and has grown to serve over 400 families. The organization offers diverse programs, including job training at their Fly Brave Emporium thrift store, social and life skills workshops, fitness and arts initiatives, and inclusive community events like proms and fashion shows. With a mission to foster independence and purpose, Fly Brave continues to expand opportunities for neurodiverse individuals.
